standing outside the fire...

my brother andrew has always had a knack for aiming a hose so it's only fitting that he make a career out of it and become a fireman!! he successfully completed his RCA training and we were proud to attend his graduation. we all had a little fun pretending to be firemen ourselves, who knew aiming a hose could be so much fun!!!!

(mom was having a lot of fun)

every group creates a "plaque" about their team and their time together. some of them were really cool. Andrew's was group 54, and I must say they are going to be one of the cooler groups with a awesome plaque. however, the skull somewhat frightens me, if i saw that coming to my rescue I might weigh my options a little more heavily.

(the angel of death!)

congrats andrew!!!!

humourous(sp)?!

if you are in the need for a good laugh, I'll allow you to have one at my expense (usually I do it on accident, this time I'm actually consenting to it.) Below is a letter I wrote to my cousin in my grade school days (you can try and figure out my age but I won't willing divulge that info since i was a little to old to be spelling so very poorly). James says it's all the funnier when read in a "kidrock/joe dirt" voice. enjoy....

halloween horror!!!

when i was little my dad took me to the expo center where we saw a glorified sales man strike fear in all vegetables hearts when he sliced and diced them with ease. we were all mesmerized by the veggie guillotine and we brought home our own torture device. our veggies have always met their deaths with pristine sliced perfection and never tasted sweeter. however it came with this warning: awesomeness not to be confused with stupidity, use wisely!
years later my dad took me to the hospital where i saw my glorified mother, she introduced me to my new brother. we were mesmerized by his awesomeness and took home our sweet new johnny boy. our lives have never been sweeter. however he came with this warning: awesomeness not to be confused with stupidity, raise wisely!!

but alas we must have failed in our attempts to warn my brother about the potato peeler because they have met their match. John claims my parents never warned him. and when his awesomeness collided with the potato slicers deadly force we were all mesmerized by the amount of blood and john's screaming. our halloween meal has never tasted sweeter.

however, another warning: this is not for the faint of heart or quesy of stomach...

ode to tomato's

oh sweet round and plump tomato
hanging deliciously ripe on the vine,
how i'd like to pick you clean and greedily call you mine.
but alas your tempting smell is but a vile trick.
for the moment I taste your juice I become quite sick.
your juices are not sweet or true,
but dirty to the core.
you have released your wretched tricks that bring me to the floor.
bending low i spew you out as i curl and wince in pain.
how dare you be so bittersweet
to one who loves in vain.

the summer winds....

have come and gone.... well not quite but with school starting for most in a few short weeks I decided ours is at an end as well. here's some of the fun stuff we've been filling our hot summer days with.

the first of July we had an awesome family reunion in beaver utah. after making the usual beaver jokes we got down to business. Our family, the Carlita Wilcox crew, was in charge of the festivities this year and we decided a Olympic decathlon would do just the trick! the events were fear factor, hula hooping, grandma & grandpa rely, truck pull, mummy wrap, walking boards, water rely, nba skills and sibling trivia! some of the names explain all the trouble and excitement the games created and if you lost, your family had to be in charge of planning the next reunion!!!! lucky for us our grandma has a pretty slick mind and even with all the cheating from the other groups she sailed us through the events and we took home the gold!!!! no more reunion planning for us! yehaa!!!

next we headed to bear lake!!! my favorite place ever!! thanks to the stanfields for letting us enjoy the sweet goodness of their perfect cabin on the awesome clear blue water. we boated and skied, wake boarded, had some good rounds of volleyball, swam and ate way to much good food(like famous raspberry shakes)!!!! it was another excellent week!!!!! the water was refreshing!!!

and then we headed to the relaxing bay of san diego and stayed with scott and jana!! cole and jana came along with us to make the trip even sweeter!!! we cruised around the city in a awesome mini van and saw all the sights from f-16 jets taking off (loudest things ever!!) to a sweet old granny wearing see through spandex with her thong hanging out (if the thought makes you vomit think how we felt when we saw it! but the good always ruled out the bad and the trip was pretty groovy! I miss the beach already.
